Same-day help for urgent findings (where possible)

A dental check-up (also called a dental exam or oral health check) is a comprehensive assessment of your teeth, gums, and bite. We look for early signs of decay and gum disease, check existing restorations, screen for oral cancer, and review habits that affect your smile. When appropriate, we’ll take low-dose digital X-rays and simple iTero® scans to record accurate baselines.
You’ll leave with: clear findings, photos (if helpful), and a simple plan—whether that’s hygiene, monitoring, or restorative care.
Due a clean? Add a scale and polish or AirFlow® stain removal to your dental check-up for a deep clean and complete oral health boost.

Set your ideal recall (typically 6–12 months) and add a dental hygiene session when due.

Most patients benefit from exams and cleanings every six months; however, if you’re prone to gum disease, cavities, or health conditions like diabetes, your dentist may recommend more frequent visits.
Your visit typically includes a professional cleaning by a hygienist (removal of plaque and tartar, polishing, possible fluoride), followed by an exam by the dentist—checking your teeth, gums, soft tissues, X‑rays, bite, and jaw function.
Even with diligent brushing and flossing, hardened plaque (tartar) can form in hard‑to‑reach areas. A hygienist removes these deposits to prevent cavities, gum disease, and bad breath.
No — they’re generally pain-free. You might experience mild sensitivity if buildup was significant, but most visits are comfortable and take around 30–60 minutes.
Expect about an hour. The hygienist usually spends 30–45 minutes on cleaning and polishing, while the dentist takes the remaining time for the exam and any X‑rays.
Regular dental care supports overall well‑being—helping reduce risks of heart disease, diabetes complications, and even pregnancy issues. Plus, early detection means less invasive and less costly treatments later.t dentist will carry out a thorough comprehensive assessment when you first attend the clinic and any dental work required in order to make your mouth and teeth healthy prior to implant treatment will be discussed. Additionally, your dentist may liase with your General Medical Practitioner in order to manage any health conditions you may have in preparation for your dental implant treatment. Due to advancements in technology, dental implants are now an option for most people looking to regain their lost teeth.
You’re not alone. Let our team know about your concerns—we’ll explain each step, pace the appointment, and offer techniques like breathing exercises to keep you comfortable.
